Dear Milk Diet,

I’m writing to say that the diet that I have to be on for two weeks is just brutal. I very much dislike milk and if it wasn’t for the sugar and fat free flavoured syrup that I can put in it, I don’t think I would have been able to do it at all. The main part of the milk diet is the milk itself and the quantity that I have to drink each day, which is four pints; so two litres. It’s not fun at all. On top of that I must drink at least a litre of water a day and one salty drink. There are other liquids that are allowed, such as, coffee and tea. But the liquids I have mentioned are a must each day for two weeks.

The aim of the milk diet is so that the liver shrinks in size. The liver can be fatty in many cases of this surgery, so it helps to get rid of the fat. This is so that it is easier for the surgeon to move in order to get to the stomach. But the diet is just so awful if you don’t like milk. The milk diet is also the start of the weight loss process.

The weight loss on the milk diet can be dramatic. The first time I had to do it I lost ten pounds in one week. But second time it has been slower, even though I am doing the exact same diet. This, for me, makes the milk diet frustrating. But I know that I am doing all that I can do aid it. Of course, the majority of the weight will be lost after the surgery.

Milk diet, you’ll be forever a brutal memory, once I have completed the two weeks.

Sincerely,

Me
